New Hope 2025 Scholarship Program

INTRODUCTION

The New Hope Baptist Church Scholarship supports students financially in their educational pursuits, aligning with the shared vision of churches, educational institutions, and community leaders to promote academic excellence among young adults. Contributions from the church members reflect their confidence in this scholarship.

PURPOSE

The academic scholarships from New Hope Baptist Church aim to recognize and reward students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement throughout high school and college, serving as an incentive to encourage and reward academic success.

NEW HOPE BAPTIST CHURCH AWARDS

1. Merit Scholarship: Recognizes students with high academic aptitude, requiring a minimum ACT composite score of 25 or SAT score of 1150 (total), a GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, and exemplary character and integrity. One scholarship is reserved for a qualifying high school student graduating in the 2024-2025 school year who is a member of New Hope Baptist Church, and another for the most deserving candidate from Madison or Lincoln High Schools.

2. New Hope Baptist Church Service Scholarship: Recognizes a high school student graduating in the 2024-2025 school year who has been a member in good standing for at least 3 years, actively participating in youth and other ministries within the church, and maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.0.

3. New Hope Baptist Church Needs-Based Scholarship: Awarded to a graduating high school student in the 2024-2025 school year with demonstrated leadership in various areas and who provides a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and Student Financial Award.

4. New Hope Baptist Church Community Service Award: Given to a graduating high school student in the 2024-2025 school year who shows dedication to serving others and contributes significantly to the community, with proof of 100 hours of community service within the preceding 12 months.

5. New Hope Baptist Church Non-Traditional Award: Awarded to a graduating high school student or any church member enrolling in a nontraditional school in the 2024-2025 academic year, encouraging trades, vocational changes, or educational experiences for independence. Applicants must submit relevant experience, personal recommendations, and recent grades, if applicable.


Scholarship Application Procedure

Eligible high school or college students interested in the New Hope Baptist Church scholarships must complete and submit the scholarship application packet by the deadline of May 16, 2025. Applicants will receive notification of the scholarship competition results via letter. The type of accreditation relevant for any particular scholarship application depends on educational level, field of study, and the Scholarship Committee's decision, which shall be final.
